Classes at Multnomah Arts Center & Tutoring

The air is crisp, leaves are changing, and a hot cup of cider sounds great with…turpentine? Yes, it’s a good time to work on your painting and drawing! Luckily, I’ll be teaching classes on oil and acrylic painting at the Multnomah Arts Center beginning on October 1st and continuing every Tuesday until December  3rd. Download the Fall 2013 Catalog from the MAC website(I’m on page 24) for details and how to register online. The afternoon Acrylic class at MAC has only one spot left and students will be welcome to work on their still life pieces. The PCC Friday morning Oils and Acrylic class has filled.

Can’t make it to the classes? I also offer private tutoring and instruction so you can learn at at your own pace and on your own time. For more info about my private tutorials, check out my website.

You don’t have to learn alone, either–bring in your family and take a class together! This could be a good bonding experience or a way to have fun with your kids while they’re on school breaks.

Get your Fall off to a good start and sign up today! I’ll see you in the studio.

Auction and show and festival oh my!

I’ve got some exciting events in the coming weeks that I’d love to share with you (and see you at)!

First, come find me at the Surfrider Summer Soiree at the Holocene on July 25. It’s not just for surfers– the Surfrider Foundation works to keep beaches clean and preserve healthy habitats. I’ll be auctioning off two original surf-themed paintings as well as selling plenty of giclees. Buy your tickets and find more information on Surfrider’s website. Enjoy the evening at a great club and check out the art show and auction, live music, a film, and more, all to benefit the Clean Water Campaign.

Balance on the Inside Break, oil on canvas, 30″ x 40″, up for auction at the Surfrider Summer Soiree

Too far north for you? I’m one of the jurors for the Annual Southern Oregon Arts Show in Grants Pass. The show opens on August 1 in Rogue Community College’s FireHouse Gallery (check out the gallery’s website) and I’ll be there presenting awards and checking out the great art. Join me there!

Finally, I’m coming back up to run my booth at the West Linn Fine Arts Festival at Marylhurst University on Saturday, August 3, and Sunday, August 4. I’ll be sharing a booth with the watercolorist Jane Levy Campbell. We’ll both be be offering painting demos and selling giclees, plaques, notecards, and original art. It looks like it’ll be a fun weekend with over 100 other participating artists! Take a look at the festival’s website for details.

I’m looking forward to seeing you at these events. Come say hi and let’s share some art. See you there!
