It’s that time of the year again!  My studio will be open the 2nd & 3rd weekends of October for the Portland Open Studios tour, and you are welcome to check it out and witness my process first hand.

Portland Open Studios is an unique opportunity to experience art as it is being made in the artist’s own space.  In their studios, watch any of 100 artists who paint, sculpt, draw, print, throw, carve, sew, and more.  Ask about their tools and techniques.  Learn more about art from the artists themselves.

Come see me in the Pearl!  A selection from my People in Landscape and latest still life series will be exhibited along with the photography of Kevin Hillegass at the Albina Community Bank in Northwest Portland with a First Thursday reception September 2, 6-9pm.   The show runs September 2 through October 1 and can be viewed during normal bank hours.

Art in the Pearl is Labor Day weekend and I will be doing a demo this Saturday, 9/4, from 12:30 to 2:30pm.  So check out the festival and witness the creation process firsthand while I work on a still life painting.  You will find me at the Multnomah Arts Center booth across the street from the Museum of Contemporary Craft (724 NW Davis St).

Art In The Pearl, the 14th annual arts festival, is a wonderful community event.  This festival fills the Northwest Portland Park blocks with art, theater, music, and hands-on activities for people of all ages.  Over one hundred artists show and sell work ranging from fine wooden furniture to beautiful paintings to photography, glass, clay, metal, jewelry, and much more!

Location:  Northwest Park blocks, between W Burnside and NW Glisan at NW 8th Ave in Portland, Oregon
