Big Fruit at New Seasons

If you are a fan of “the friendliest store in town” and locally grown produce, come check out a home grown collection of my Big Fruit paintings at the Progress Ridge New Seasons Market this February.  My work will be hanging in the deli from February 4 through March 4, 2013.

And if all my rich, colorful, juicy fruit is not enough to tempt you, then join me for their First Thursday event, February 7, 2013, 5-8pm, when they will be celebrating Mardi Gras.  They will be serving up Cajun food samples throughout the store as well as beer tasting at the bar and mask decorating for the kids.  Their First Thursday events are fun and very popular.  So don’t miss out on the festivities!  And for instant gratification, I will also have some affordable giclée prints available to purchase and ready to hang.

Rogue River at the Oregon Artist Showcase

Although most of my recent landscapes are snapshots of our beautiful Oregon Coast, my latest landscape is a painting of Oregon’s Rogue River, known for its salmon runs, whitewater rafting, and rugged scenery.  And now I am pleased to announce that Rogue River I was selected for the 2013 Oregon Artist Showcase at the Chehalem Cultural Center.  This juried exhibition, entitled “Inside Outside – The Space Between,” will present a variety of diverse and engaging works of art that explore the environment and spaces around us.

Since my landscape paintings personalize environmental awareness and explore the relationship between the viewer and their surrounding natural environment, Rogue River I is a perfect addition to a show emphasizing nature, ecology, personal, and internal spaces as well as space and time and the places/spaces between.

The show runs January 15 – February 22, 2013 with a First Friday ArtWalk artists reception Friday, February 1, 5-8 pm.

12×12 Exhibition at Todd Art Gallery

A small painting can still be special and have significant impact.  Such is the case with one of my recent seascapes, Fog Rolls In.  This painting was selected to be part of the online exhibit for the 4th National Juried Exhibition of Small Scale Works of Art at MTSU’s Todd Art Gallery.  All of the selected 2-D and 3-D works of art must be 12″ x 12″ x 12″ or smaller, and this piece is exactly 12 x 12 inches!  The exhibit will run January 17 through February 14, 2013.

Big Fruit in Irvington

While I have been showing a lot of my seascapes and landscapes recently, my Big Fruit paintings are always a favorite.  So if you haven’t seen them in a while, a selection of my Big Fruit paintings can be seen at Premiere Property Group on NE Broadway in Irvington.  Within walking distance of the Cadillac Cafe and across the street from Sweet Jayne and Furever Pets, there are plenty of other things to do in the neighborhood.  So stop by Premiere Property’s office for a quick break from your errands or holiday shopping in NE Portland!  Just make sure you call ahead and check with Tod Breslau to make sure someone is there.

A little saltwater with your coffee?

I am bringing a bit of the ocean to Portland and showing a collection of my seascapes at the Hawthorne Street Cafe through the end of January with an upcoming artist reception Saturday, January 5, 2013 at 4pm.

So if you are looking for a sunny day at the beach, make sure you stop by Hawthorne Street Cafe for breakfast or lunch.  The cheery and homey eatery is a perfect backdrop for my paintings of our own beautiful Oregon Coast.
