Another year teaching painting classes to interesting and talented students at the Multnomah Arts Center and another rewarding year supporting their arts education program! It has been a wonderful 8 years and I am happy to be participating again in the upcoming MAC Instructors Show.
This November, the MAC Gallery will be showcasing the creative works of their instructors, including a selection of my latest pieces. You can come to the opening reception this Friday, November 2, from 5 to 7pm, and see paintings, prints, metal arts, ceramics, textile arts and more. Maybe you will even be inspired to sign up for an upcoming class!
Opening Reception: Nov 2, 2012, 5 – 7pm
Show Dates: Nov 2 – 28, 2012
To take advantage of this special tour, purchase a $5 map and ticket good for two adults (children under 18 are free) and for all four days. Even better, a $15 Tour Guide includes the ticket, images of the artists’ work, a fold-out map, and a 2013 datebook.
Now this is an interesting tidbit! My painting, Apples & Delft Mugs, will be an on-camera set prop for a TV series entitled “Made in Jersey,” a CBS legal drama premiering September 2012. I can’t wait to see where they have it hanging. Will it be at the law firm, in the main character’s office, at her home, or a friend’s or client’s home? I guess you will just have to watch and see if you can find Apples & Delft Mugs!
Since the weather is still nice, join me and 9 other artists from Portland Open Studios this Saturday, September 29th, while we demonstrate our process and share our techniques. I am not sure yet what inspiration will hit me tomorrow, but you can be sure I will be making the most of the sunshine and the downtown vibe! We will be at at Director Park (SW Park and SW Yamhill) between 11am and 5pm. And while you are there, check out the art show and buy a tour guide for the 2012 Annual Portland Open Studios. Who knows? You may find some inspiration of your own to take home!
